I purchased the book because it is one of the few that graphically shows you where the hook should go to get the stitch, by drawing lines on the picture instead of a picture of the hook already placed or a picture of the finished square leaving you to guess what was done. I just wish there were more pictures with the lines with each pattern so that I wouldn't have to keep flipping between pages and that the line color was appropriate for the yarn color so that it stood out more. I also wish the page count noted in the store was correct. There are 50 patterns, each has 1 or 2 pages to it, so there are over 60 pages instead of 32. That said, I am hoping that she is still planning on translating volumes 2 and 3 to English because I am interested in them. Having read all of the reviews for Tunisian Crochet Vol. I, I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the book. THe book is a VERY thin paperback but does cover a lot of different stitches. Unfortunately for me, the directions for how to do each stitch were nearly nonexistent. I had hoped that the graphics in this book would show where to insert the hook, etc. but instead the author uses verbal descriptions and refers to "vertical and horizontal bars." While I am sure this book would be great for some people it was not what I was looking for visually; I need more detailed images/drawings as opposed to just text and photos. Perhaps if I wasn't a beginner I would have enjoyed the book more.
